Meeting Report - 28 May 2012

Winter reared it's ugly head and a number of our members preferred visiting warmer climbs or the fireside. Nevertheless those that attended had an interesting and entertaining evening.

We had a break from editing with Wilma Deen  letting us into her world of indexing. She carefully indexes each film into a book and as well there is a simple index by way of a card attached to each tape. This is a very important part of filming and gives easier access to hundreds of hours of film.

Following this she showed us some of her earlier films which had been transferred on to DVD's.

The competition was Open maximum 10 minutes. Mike Davies showed "Rafting on the Yulon River" with bamboo rafts ,parasols and deck chairs going over weirs, Gio Angelo explained the basics of "Fencing" (trying to stick Rapiers into people) and Wilma Deen "Let's take the Boat Out" which explored her boating experiences.
All the films were of a high standard and the competition was won by Wilma, Gio second and Mike third.
Well done.
