Meeting Report 22 August 2011

OAMM Club Meeting - Monday 22 August 2011.

Vice President, Frank Weedon, welcomed the members, and noted apologies from John & Robyn Armstrong ( in Vancouver, Canada ), Murray Elston ( in Australia ), Mike and Celia Davies (Scotland) Warren Knox ( in Hanmer Springs ) Gertrude Conway and Leslie Weedon. My word our members are getting about.

Sympathy was exended to Harry Deen on the loss of his brother.

Raffle results: Alex McKenzie and Wilma Deen - (prizes given by Peter Fitzgibbon )

Competitions:

CLUB SUBJECT: A 30 second Commercial.

TALK: Frank Weedon gave a short talk on Script-writing for video films.

A number of members showed the following variety of their older films.

 "A Clock Museum" ( Ted Hagen ) - "Compost Bin" ( Frank Weedon ) - "Birdseye View Of Dunedin" ( Andrew Wylie ) - "The Story Of A New Zealand Sheep" ( Wilma Deen ) - "South Light Wild Life" ( Nevill Smith )

SHOW & TELL: Andrew Wylie showed 3 brief films ..(1).. A helicopter visit to KVHS ( Secondary school in Kaikorai Valley ), (2) TV3 News item A time-lapse record of building the Dunedin Stadium, (3) Printing in 3D ( The making of a working crescent wrench ).

Noel Read advised details of converting film to DVD.

Birthday congratulations were extended to Wilma Deen and Warren Knox

Nevill Smith issued name tags, and encouraged members to prepare for the 75th celebrations of the Club in April 2012.
