Brian Wolff gave a very interesting illustrated talk on his and Anne's adventures in the North Island in their Camper Bus. Thanks Brian - excellent.
The competition (5 minute open) was won by Nevill Smith with "First Church of Otago", followed by Warren Knox and "West is Best". Third was Gio Angelo with "5". Gio's film covered a film being made by the Aoraki Polytechnic students. Unfortunately the course is being terminated at the end of 2011and the year's work will not be able to be credited to any other course. Gio invited members to write to the appropriate authorities on the matter.
Films were also shown by Murray Elston - one made by a young Murray on Whitby and another showing Alpacas.
Finally John Armstrong displayed charts showing Astrolabe Reef where the container vessel Rena was breaking up.
