And another report on our meeting

The Meeting with the World's Best View
The March Meeting of the Otago Amateur Movie Makers was held at the Heyward's Point home of Gio Angelo and Ruth Chapman.
It was certainly not business as usual, more like business as unusual as you can get...and a brilliant fine calm evening as well. I only just made it after returning from a Lions Convention in Temuka, but am very glad I did! Although this was not perhaps the easiest location to find unless you knew where you were going...it was in the end reasonably straight forward, just a few kilometres up the Heyward's Point gravel road...however with the bonus fantastic views!!! It was not hard to spot the flags flying off the Angelo tower at the house as you neared their home.
Our sympathies went to Ted and Audrey, who had travelled all the way to Harington Point,  then realising their mistake making it back around to Heyward's Point to Join us for our meal...a heroic amount of patience which paid off in the end.
Our ‘Meeting’ of course was the Club barbecue, with the added extras in the form of walks, a real tower to climb, a jousting area, two home picture theatres,  petanque and a front lawn with a view to die for. We were invited to arrive any time through the afternoon and spend a relaxing time doing as we wished and some of us indeed did just that. Our own arrival was just in time for a quick refresher then off on a walk to the Point itself, overlooking Toroa Heads and Aramoana. This was just the tonic for me after spending the morning sitting in a rather long Lions Dedication Church service in Temuka then almost 3 hours in the car driving south....and when back we  certainly welcomed our barbecue, a lovely evening feast with all sorts of fare much of it provided by those attending, (a good number...19 in all). As we ate and drank our fill, many cameras were in action...we may see some great screenings at our next meeting!!!
Any ‘business’ missed was well and truly made up for in the fellowship and fun of this evening...as twilight slowly invaded it was interesting to observe the ever changing hues of colour and ripples in the ocean far below, and as the evening closed in and we made our way inside for a lovely cuppa and some cake, we can conclude by saying this was certainly an outing that we won’t forget.
Our sincere thanks to Gio and Ruth for opening their home and environs to us.
